Moscow the Middle

On Saturday, the four of us went with a friend of Andrew's and showed us around a little bit.  His name is Dima.  He is awesome!  We were so glad that we went with him.  The first place that we went was an outdoor market.  It was so much fun.  There I got a real amber ring, and some presents for my mom, and a friend.  The really good thing about Dima being there is that he could tell us if it was a good deal or not.  He probably saved us a bunch of money because of that.  After the market, we saw a replica of Old Moscow.  That was pretty cool.  But also at this time, it started to pour.  I do not have the right wardrobe for Russia.  None of my stuff is waterproof.  Especially my TOMS that I had been wearing.  I think my feet were cold/wet for the entire trip, but I'm used to that.  Dima wanted to show us some of his favorite places in Moscow.  There was a statue honoring the men in the factories, and women in the fields.  Then we went to this USSR place.  I'm not entirely sure what it was, but it was pretty cool.  Andrew just informed me that it was the main headquarters of the USSR.  So it was real important.  We walked around it a little bit, and then left.  Also by this time, it has gotten cold too, so we were glad to leave.

We left and went to this famous street.  On this street was a super delicious Wendy's!!!  Oh how I've missed it!  It was so good, but it took forever to get my food.  While we were there, we heard English.  Hearing English was so great.  It turns out it was another ILP group.  It was one of the groups from Moscow.  How crazy is that?  When we talked to them, they said they lived an hour outside the city, and they haven't done much.  But they made sure that we go to Red Square.  After we left Wendy's, it started to down pour, so we went back to the hostel.

But before going back to the hostel, Andrew decided that he wanted to ride the circle metro train to every stop because we had nothing better to do.  It took over an hour to do this, but it was fine.  We would get off at every stop, and he would take pictures of the cool things there.  There were some mosaic tiles, statues, pictures and other things to help the people of Moscow to remember about their past.

We just chilled at the hostel for the rest of the night, and waited for the others to get back.  When they came back, we talked about our day, and what we were going to do on Sunday.  We were at first going to go to Tchaikovsky museum, but it would have been an hour away, and we didn't have the time to go.  We finally decided what we were going to do on Sunday.

It was a pretty relaxing day, but we did a lot though, and saw a lot.  It was pretty great.
