Oh Life!: Catherine's Palace

Yesterday we went to Catherine's Palace. It is like everything else, just simply amazing.

We left the apartment, and got on the metro. The metro is a great invention for transportation. We took it to close to the end of the blue line, and then rode a bus to the Palace. Sveta is all knowing, and great. She is such a great tour guide. She knew the best way to get into the Palace, and the grounds.

Walking through the Palace was simply amazing. We walked up the grand stairs to the ballroom, and it took my breathe away. In the ballroom, there were so many lights and mirrors on the wall. It was stunning. We went through several rooms, and they were all equally amazing. The prettiest room I think that was there, was the amber room. The walls were covered with all sorts of sizes of amber. Pictures weren't allowed in the room, so I don't have one. There was also a room that had a lot of gold plating. It was very pretty. Another room had a copy of Catherine's dress, and it was made out of paper. It looked like it was really material. Then we left to go out to the gardens.

The gardens were pretty, and quite huge. Part of the Hermitage is also located there, but we didn't go see it. We walked through the gardens, and got to experience other countries. The first place that we saw was Turkey. Then we went to Egypt, followed by Athens, and finally China. By this time, we were hungry, so we got a blin at this cute little store by the Palace. Then we went home.

I could have gone to Swan Lake, but I didn't go. Marci, Courtney and Sydney all went, and I think they enjoyed it. They didn't say anything to me about it. But that was my adventure for the day!
